Appointments

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures we operate primarily by appointment; but walk-ins are welcome.  Like humans, pets do not synchronize their illnesses with an appointment book and surgical procedures sometimes take longer than planned, so an occasional appointment delay is inevitable.  Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time and a phone call is appreciated by all if an appointment needs to be rescheduled.

First Visit

When bringing your pet in for a check-up remember it may be a little uneasy about new people and animals.  This is one of the reasons we ask that you restrain your pet before coming into the clinic.

We suggest animals be placed on a leash, in a pet carrier or held in your arms before entering the waiting room.  Your pet and others in the waiting area will appreciate the extra care.

If you think your pet has a contagious disease you should call us first with details - we may request your pet wait in another area, until called for.

Pharmacy

Our clinic has it own pharmacy to fill most of our clients prescriptions in house.  However, there is the occasional prescription that  will need to be filled at a human pharmacy.  Our in house pharmacy will save you time and money.

We will recommend the best medications available for your pet.  The wrong medications at the wrong time can be very detrimental to your pet's health.  Always follow the directions on your pet's medication precisely.. do not save them for future use.  Never give your pet human pain killers or other human medications - they can be deadly.  Use only medicine that has been prescribed by a veterinarian and KEEP ALL MEDICATIONS OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS.

Boarding / Visits

Reservations are required for boarding, which we provide as a service for our clients.  For the safety of all pets in our charge we require that all vaccinations be up-to-date.  Animals are able to receive veterinarian attention at the owner's expense.

Our boarding area is air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter.  Dogs are  separately (or by family) taken outside to a fenced in area by a technician.

Visits are permitted at our discretion only - a constant flow of people tends to excite all pets in the kennel.  If you want to visit your pet while it is boarding with us please call first.

All pets are discharged during normal business hours Monday through Saturday.

General Health & Vaccinations

Having your pet vaccinated against contagious diseases may be one of the most important thing you ever do for your pet.  We can advise what is best for your individual pet, but here are some guidelines:

Puppies & Kittens:  Puppies should begin vaccinations at 6-8 weeks of age, while kittens begin at 7-8 weeks with last  booster
at 16 weeks of age.  Annual boosters are needed to maintain health protection.

   Dogs:
Dogs should be vaccinated against Distemper, Parvo, Corona, Rabies, and some cases Lyme.  Dogs should
also be on a heartworm preventative and be checked yearly.  We also offer monthly flea and tick
                                   preventative.

Cats:                        Cats should be immunized for Feline Distemper, respiratory viruses, Leukemia, and Rabies.  We also offer
                                   monthly flea and tick preventative.

Animal medicine has made great strides in recent years and pets are now enjoying much longer and more trouble free lives with the aid of qualified and conscientious health care professionals.  We look foward to helping you enjoy the happiness that a healthy pet can provide.
